Studio Express + 2K Foundations - Audio Engineering & Music Production for Youth in Georgia

Cheryl Hinton

With technology jobs growing more prevalent in these times, audio engineers are needed more than ever. Studio Express, an audio engineering and music production incubator empowers young people with skills to consider a job in this field a possibility. "By partnering with 2K Foundations, we create space for future sound technicians and music producers. We are able to meet young creatives right where they are and give them a realistic and equitable hand-up into the industry" says Tara Alexander, Founder/ Executive Director. 2K Foundations came aboard and gave the support to make this facility and training available for youth in Metro Atlanta. With so many positive things going on in Georgia, the team thought it would be a great place for the program. Presently, youth come from 5 local schools to the out of school time program which is conveniently located in the heart of Fayette County at CS-145 LED Virtual Film Production Facility. Studio Express is a state of the art music studio within the building with opportunities for recording and education. Creatives ages 14-24 are welcomed to come and learn to earn at the workforce development program. Internships are also available. For enrollment information or media interviews contact Tara Alexander at talexander@studioexpressglobal.com

According to the US Bureau of Labor Statistics, "Overall employment of broadcast, sound, and video technicians is projected to grow 10 percent from 2021 to 2031, faster than the average for all occupations." At Studio Express, our aim is to create a pipeline that gives young creatives an opportunity to make audio engineering and music production an attainable career and business choice.
